Energy Transfer Partners – Design/Build Dock & Mooring Dolphin Reconstruction – Ft. Mifflin/Philadelphia, PA

This design/build project entailed the complete reconstruction of a petro-chemical terminal. Commerce was tasked with the demolition and reconstruction of four pile-supported concrete mooring dolphins, as well as the construction of four new concrete breasting dolphins. Piles varied in type and size including 14 x 117 H-Beams, 16-inch pipe piles, and 36-inch pipe piles. The greatest challenge on this project was the tight coordination and flawless performance required to work within scheduled terminal shutdowns, including working 21 days straight on 12-hour shifts and a second shutdown working 14 days straight on 12-hour shifts. The project was completed on schedule completion and within budget.
