Paulsboro Marine Terminal Phase II – New Wharf for Wind Energy Development – Paulsboro, NJ

This new wharf serves as the region’s “wind port” where massive components needed for off-shore wind turbines are be fabricated and transported, destined for the wind energy development off the coast of southern New Jersey.

The project entailed constructing over 350,000 square feet of new wharf including three new berths, vehicle transport bridge, rail bridge, and an infill section all while the existing berth of the wharf remained in operation. Commerce self-performed the majority of the work and, along with our key subcontractors, installed over 1,700 pipe piles, 40,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place concrete, 1,300 precast concrete pieces, 2,000 linear feet of railway, and 60 fenders. Additional work included demolition of an existing jetty, new wharf lighting and electrical facilities, potable water piping, and a deck drainage system with water quality filters. Commerce completed this project within budget and on time.
